The Service
Paint Color consulting services are conducted on-site,
via U.S. mail, by email, and telephone.
After many years of paint color consulting, I have
realized that my unique talent is to be able to understand your
needs and your taste and to pick paint colors that you would have
picked yourself had you been able to figure out how to do so.
Exterior Architectural Color Consulting
I
am the author of the best-selling The Perfectly Painted House (Rockport
Publishers, 2002), which is a unique guidebook for selecting and
combining exterior paint colors. I have designed exterior color
combinations for most every architectural style of home in the U.S.
These include Colonial, Cape, Dutch Colonial, Georgian, Classic
Revival, Greek revival, Victorian, Colonial revival, Tudor, Mission,
Bungalow, Craftsman, Ranch, and Contemporary. Many of these homes
are historic, but I do not specialize in historic color consulting
and do not limit color palettes to what was appropriate to the period
(unless requested). I create color schemes for small, modest homes,
and for large homes, such as a recent commission on a California
Contemporary located in Los Angeles, designed by noted architect,
Richard Landry.
I have an extensive knowledge of color theory and
have spent years studying the fine art of painting. Over the course
of many years I have photographed, collected and created a portfolio
of houses of every style and color. I continue to photograph houses
for this collection and for color inspiration. In addition, I have
a large resource library filled with books on architecture and color.
Every job I take is treated individually and personally.
I design your paint color scheme and communicate directly with you
throughout the process. I choose colors that reflect the needs and
tastes of my client. I not have assistants. I do not use stock color
schemes. I choose paint colors that work within the surrounding
landscape and within the context of neighboring houses.
Interior Paint Color Consulting
I
am the author of the best-selling Perfect Palette (Warner Books,
1998) and Perfect Palettes For Painting Rooms (Rockport Books, 2003).
These books were written to help people pick paint colors for their
interiors. The systems for doing this are described step-by-step
in each book.
I have an extensive knowledge of color theory and
design. I have created interior paint color schemes for hundreds
of homes of every conceivable style, size and price. Whether a consultation
is conducted on-site, (within greater Boston) or by-mail, I help
the client to access and express their own sense of style, and to
bring to the forefront their love of color. My greatest contribution
as an interior paint color consultant is first and foremost to choose
colors that reflect the needs and tastes of the client. I create
a unified flow throughout the floor plan, which gives your rooms
a greater sense of continuity. Your furnishings and accessories
then relate better to each other within each room and between adjoining
rooms. The colors in your house are harmonious and balanced.
Every job I take is treated individually and personally.
I design your paint color scheme and communicate directly with you
throughout the process. I not have assistants. I do not use paint
manufacturers CD Roms', or any other programs to create your color
scheme. I do not use stock color schemes. Everyone has their own
sense of what is beautiful, what makes them comfortable and what
is appropriate for their home. It is my goal to see to it that we
achieve the perfect color scheme for you.
