Everyone has his or her own color legacy, or color memories. This begins the moment our eyes can perceive color. Without knowing why, we may be drawn to a shade of blue from a beloved grandmother's bedroom, or a sunny yellow of our family's summer cottage, or the pink of Bermuda sand.

Our color preferences shift over time with our experiences, and our color sensibilities are heightened by our experiences, but we have not found a way to express it without taking any risk. And fear of choosing the wrong paint colors may be enough to stop you from even trying.

I chose to do this kind of work because of the joy I get when people become excited about transforming their living space with color through the color consultation process. I offer practical color guidance to help you achieve your own special living spaces, but a consultation is actually much more than that. The color consulting process can be, and often is enlightening. A homeowner receives their set of color scenarios and begins to ponder them. It is at this point that a transformation in the homeowner usually occurs. While viewing these personalized, selected choices, the individual comes in touch with his/her color sense and this often triggers, through their own heightened color awareness, a deep-seated creativity.
